Mountain Minecraft Modded Survival

Prerequisites

  • If you need to download and install Minecraft, you can get it here

  • Download the client resources here

Install Forge

  • Run the forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2811-installer-win.exe file from the client resources, you may need to unzip the file first

  • Be sure to select the client option

Configure a Modded Profile

  • Open the Minecraft launcher

  • Select the "Launch Options" tab

  • Click Add New

  • Name the profile "MTMC Modded Server"

  • Select version: release 1.12.2-forge1.12.2-14.23.5.2811

  • Click save

Initialize Forge Resources and Files

  • Select the news tab in the Minecraft launcher

  • Click the upward facing arrow next to the play button

  • Scroll to the bottom of the list and click "MTMC Modded Server"

  • Click play

  • Once the game has opened, you may close it

(Optional) Install Liteloader

  • Run the liteloader-installer-1.12.2-00-SNAPSHOT.exe file from the client resources, you may need to unzip the file first

  • From the "extends from" list, select 1.12.2-forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2811

  • Rename new profile to "MTMC Modded Server w/ Maps"

  • Click OK and complete the installation process

Configure Your Profile

  • Select the launch options tab in the Minecraft launcher

  • Turn on the advanced settings slider and hit OK

  • Scroll to the bottom of the list and select either "MTMC Modded Server" or "MTMC Modded Server w/ Maps"

  • Turn on the JVM arguments slider

  • Edit the -Xmx1G argument to reflect the following:

    • If your computer has >12GB of RAM: "-Xmx6G"
    • If your computer has 12GB of RAM: "-Xmx4G"
    • If your computer has 8GB of RAM: "-Xmx3G"
    • If your computer has 4GB of RAM: "-Xmx2G"
    • If your computer has <4GB of RAM: Don't edit the argument

  • Click Save

(Optional) Initialize Liteloader Modloader Resources and Files

  • Select the news tab in the Minecraft launcher

  • Click the upward facing arrow next to the play button

  • Scroll to the bottom of the list and click "MTMC Modded Server w/ Maps"

  • Click play

  • Once the game has opened, you may close it

Add Mods

  • Open the Windows Files Explorer

  • In the address bar enter "%appdata%", without the quotation marks, and press enter

  • Open the .minecraft directory

  • Open the mods directory

  • Copy all .jar files from the client resources to this mods directory

  • (Optional) Copy the mod_voxelMap_1.7.1_for_1.12.2.litemod file to this directory

  • Close the Windows File Explorer

Add the Server

  • Select the news tab in the Minecraft launcher

  • Click play

  • Once the game has opened, click the "Multiplayer" button

  • Click the "Add Server" button

  • In the "server name:" text box, enter "MTMC Modded Server"

  • In the "Server address:" text box, enter "mountain-computers.com:25602"

  • Click the "Add Server" button

Connect to the Server

  • Navigate to the "Play Multiplayer" menu

  • Select "MTMC Modded Server"

  • Click the "Join Server" button

Configure Controls (Optional) and Minimap

  • Once you have loaded into the server world, seek refuge to a place where you will be safe

  • Press the escape key

  • Click "Controls..."

  • Turn Auto-Jump to Off

  • Set the following key bindings:

    • Attack: Button 1
    • Pick Block: Button 3
    • Use Item: Button 2

    • Drop Selected: Q
    • HB1: 1
    • HB2: 2
    • ...
    • Open/Close Inv: E
    • Swap Items In: F

    • Inventory Sort: BACKSLASH

    • (Optional)

    • Toggle In-Game: NONE
    • Toggle Mobs: NONE

    • Toggle Fullscr: F11

    • Jump: SPACE
    • Sneak: LSHIFT
    • Sprint: LMENU (Left alt key)
    • Strafe Left: A
    • Strafe Right: D
    • Walk Backwards: S
    • Walk Forward: W

    • List Players: TAB
    • Open Chat: C
    • Open Command: SLASH

    • Change Hotbar: G

  • Click done

  • Click done

  • Press Back to Game

  • Press the M key

  • Click Options

  • Turn on Display Coordinates and Enable Cave Mode

  • Turn off Square Map, Hide Minimap, and Old North

  • Change In-Game Waypoints to Beacons

  • Change Size to Large

  • Click Radar

  • Turn on Radar and Show Players

  • Turn off Show Hostiles, Show Player Helmets, Icon Filtering, Randomobs, Show Neutrals, Show Player Names, and Icon Outlines

  • Click Done

  • Click Done

  • Click Done

Note:

    If you have been playing on the MTMC Pixelmon Server, you are already configured, but you will need to remove the Pixelmon .jar mod file from your mods folder.
